Initiated by Mick Sullivan in 1999 the South Wales Premier Photography League is still very active with six of the seven original clubs still participating.
Each member club meets each other once per year for a two-way competition, known as a battle, for the best photography. Marks are awarded by an outside judge and clubs arranged in a league table.
In 2008/2009 battles were for 15 prints from each club. For 2009/2010 there will be 10 prints and 5 digital projected images from each club.
Once a year all clubs meet together for a separate competition and presentation of awards.
